Gardens

Early on, Maggie Wetzel decided to restore the gardens and preserve the trees planted by Cyrus Alexander in the 1850s.  Today, her great grandchildren play under those same trees while enjoying the figs and plums they produce.  The gardens have always been a source of inspiration to the family, and from the beginning, family meals have been planned around their bounty.  Over the years, Hank has enlarged the garden, and now the produce he grows can be enjoyed at the Healdsburg Farmers Market, as well as fine restaurants in the area.

These gardens have sustained and inspired for over 175 years.
